Cleaning Naturally there are lots of far more enjoyable things than cleaning the kitchen ventilator. Until now, however, no kitchen ventilator has been able to clean itself. Regular cleaning is important. Not only for fire safety, but also to retain the efficiency of the kitchen ventilator for many years. We recommend doing this at least once a month, and preferably once a fortnight.
In anticipation of a self-cleaning kitchen ventilator, you can still have an input, for example by choosing a ventilator which really is easy to clean. Visit your dealer and ask questions, examine and compare. The filter and impeller wheel must be simple both to remove and to replace. (A detachable impeller wheel is an essential requirement if you are to be able to clean the helix, i.e.the component that encloses the impeller wheel.) Both the filter and the impeller wheel must be dishwasher-proof, of course.
Also check that the ventilator chassis is practically executed without unnecessary angles and corners where fat, dust and dirt can accumulate. If you wish to be particularly thorough, you should also satisfy yourself that the painted surface of the kitchen ventilator is durable and easy to wipe down.
If the kitchen ventilator satisfies these strict requirements for ease of cleaning, you can look forward to having far more time available for happiness, light-heartedness and pleasure in your kitchen. Gone with the wind are compulsion, drudgery and a bad conscience.
Get into the habit of putting the filter and impeller wheel regularly in the dishwasher. It is important, however, to ensure that these components really are removable and dishwasher-proof.
A kitchen ventilator that is not cleaned at regular intervals soon loses its efficiency. The ventilator should be cleaned at least once a month. Every time you do this, you will give your kitchen ventilator new, efficient power
